How to Better Prepare for Your Upcoming Treatment

Are you planning to come in for a treatment soon? There are a few things you might want to do to better prepare for your appointment.

Botox, Juvederm and Restylane treatments may cause brusing, even when done by the best injectors. To decrease the chances of bruising and bleeding at the injection site, try to avoid aspirin, blood thinners, ibuprofen and other nonsteroidal anti-inflmmatory medication for at least an entire week before the injection. If you take St. John's Wart or Vitamin E, try to discontinue use as well to prepare for the treatment.

Some injectables requite allergy tests to test for compatibiliy. Even for treatments that do not require the test, such as Juvederm, you should still let your doctor know of any allergies you have before the appointment. On the same note, tell your doctor anything you think may be medically relevant to the treatment. Topics to think about mentioning include whether you are breastfeeding or not, a list of supplements or herbs you are taking and other subjects relevant to your health and wellbeing.

Plan ahead of time to ensure that your treatment is done well in advance before any important events or dates. After the injection, it is best to allow your skin time to adjust to the treatment and recover from the injection. In case of any minor problems that may arise from the treatment, you will have time to consult your doctor.
